About "Ruth Carpet House"
The Ovadia family, owners of "Ruth Carpet House" since 1980, and the owners and founders of Carpet Diem, the only designer carpet store in the country. Third generation of a long-standing family of carpet merchants and manufacturers from Afghanistan. Back in their home in Kabul, Afghanistan, his father and grandfather were designers and manufacturers of carpets with their own hands, in a factory they established, which also processed furs and textiles for export to Europe.
The family members themselves carried out all the stages of the complex process involved in creating a carpet, starting with shearing the wool from the sheep, spinning it into threads, dyeing with natural materials and weaving.
For decades, the Ovadia family was engaged in the production and export to merchants in Europe: Afghan, Persian, Indian and other carpets, in unique patterns and of the highest quality. Over the years, the family built a reputation in the field, and expanded its operations to Zurich, Switzerland, from where it marketed carpets all over the world.
The Ovadia family began its business in Israel by exporting its carpets from Kabul to merchants in Israel. Upon their immigration to Israel, the family opened the "Ruth Carpet House" store on Ben Yehuda Street in Tel Aviv, named after the only daughter in the family. Later, another branch was opened in Tel Aviv, and about ten years ago, a branch of "Ruth Carpet House" was opened on Abba Even Street in Herzliya. Over the years, this branch moved to 27 Maskit Street in Herzliya. Today, the same carpets that the family has preserved over the years can be found in the new showroom of "Ruth Carpet House" in Rishon Lezion, at 20 Stocchi Lishansky.
We believe that "no carpet is the same as another, each carpet has its own unique story." Over the years, we have gained expertise and in-depth knowledge in the world of carpets, to the point that with one look at a carpet, we can know its origin and value, how it was woven and what quality it is.
About four years ago, we also established the designer store "CARPET DIEM", by David Ovadia, which in Latin CARPE DIEM means "seize the day" calling on people to make good use of every day and also in the field of home design, which includes an innovative contemporary collection that is spectacular in its beauty and suitable for modern design.
All carpets are handmade in Nepal and India, bearing the names of the world's greatest designers who fall in love with them at first sight.
Our family is proud of the collection of authentic and traditional carpets that we have. These symbolize the beginning of our journey in the family empire that has been passed down from generation to generation for over 60 years.
We are experts in the authentic and modern carpet industry and know how to evaluate and identify the value of carpets at first glance. This is our expertise, as a result of the professional experience we have acquired over the years and which has led us to this amazing field, which combines beauty, design and aesthetics.
